Animals can be unpredictable which is what we love about them. But it can be difficult to get them to sit still long enough to take a great photo.
I’ve spent the last few years perfecting the art of capturing dogs in motion.
Dogs love to run, and as a dog photographer I love capturing them at their best.
I want to capture all their quirks so you can remember them the way they are, and why you love them so much.
How does the portrait session work?
I will send you a questionnarie before we begin so that I can find out a bit more about you and your best mate. Then we have a chat on the phone so that we can tailor make the experience, just for you. We choose an outdoor location that is both convenient, and works well for you and your pooch. We want you to be relaxed, as its not only going to be fun, but it makes for better images in the end.
One to two weeks later we will meet up at my studio for the reveal and ordering appointment. This is the most exciting part as you can see your pictures and decide what you would like to order. You will also get to see and touch samples of artwork so you can really start to imagine your pet as a piece of art!

In this phone call, we discuss locations, your pet’s needs, and what kinds of artwork you are after. Owners are welcome to jump into the photos as well and we can discuss colour choices for your outfits. This is your chance to set the tone for the final result.
This is the fun part. After the portrait session we get together at my place to show you the pictures we captured. You will get to see examples of real prints and then order what you would like. This is the best bit because this is where it all really comes to life.

Welcome to Rustie and Co Pet photography, my name is Emma.
I have always loved photographing animals on the move. After a trip to Botswana in 2020 I was missing the thrill of taking photos of wild animals in their natural habitat and I decided to start capturing my canine Rustie, at full speed and at her finest.
Taking photos of Rustie quickly developed into taking photos of other people’s dogs. It was then that the book idea began to take shape and so the Rustie and co name began.
I recently completed an in-depth course in dog photography and is now registered as a Dog Photography Master.
