All devoted pet parents worry about losing their furry friend one day. With Rustie and co we freeze time by creating photographic pieces of art you will cherish forever.

Do you struggle with:

  • Blurry photos of your dog because they won’t sit still?
  • Can’t get a photo of your dog’s face because they won’t look at the camera?
  • Wish you could get nice pictures of your dog running but they can’t be off leash?
  • Want to get real show stopping artwork of your cat instead of mediocre snap shots from your phone but don’t know how?
  • Worried that when your pet does leave this world, you will only have boring snapshots of them when they were old and at the end of their life, instead of showing them off when they were young and vibrant?

We want to help you be your pet’s superhero.

At Rustie and co, we help you be your pup’s superhero. As devoted pet parents we all want to do the best for our furry friend. We let them sleep in our beds, give them human grade food and make sure they have a matching collar and lead when we take them on their daily walk…but what about showing off their best side?

Photographing animals can be hard.

I understand the struggles of photographing animals, it can be tricky, but it can also be stressful because you don’t just want a snapshot, you want a show stopper for your wall. You want a piece of art that will stand the test of time.

Over the years I have worked on

  • The right poses that will make your dog look elegant
  • Found locations that are dog friendly…and yes, even for the reactive ones.
  • Learnt skills so I know how to get your dog to work with me
  • Studied editing techniques to make your picture into a piece of art, not just a click of the shutter
  • Discovered how to remove leads from the images, so that you don’t have to worry if your dog can’t be off leash
  • Did a course with Dog photography Masters, which covers every aspect of dog photography.
  • Took a year to make a coffee table book about the dogs in the local area, so that I could get practice before I worked with paying clients.

It breaks my heart when people have thousands of photos on their phone, but never print any of them.

These days we have a camera on us wherever we go, but what do we do with all of those photos? We spend most of our lives recording experiences, only for the pictures to stay in the depths of our phone. Creating the art is really just the beginning.

Our pets are part of the family and add soul to your house. They deserve to be remembered the right way. We want you to be able to sit on your couch and show off your art to your friends while you drink your wine in the everning. At Rustie and co, we work with you to make sure you get the best prints for your home.

We take time to:

  • Find out what is going to suit your house best by asking you out about your colour schemes and your style. What mediums would suit your aesthetic and which backdrops will make your dog’s coat shine.
  • Discover if you are a renter or someone who moves around a lot. Maybe you don’t have any wall space. Sometimes, the best option is an album or a collection of prints in a display box you can take with you wherever you go.
  • Source the best print company, so that we know the quality is the best money can buy. The last thing you want is to take the time to organize your artwork, only to discover that the colours fade within a year or worse still goes mouldy from moisture in the air. We use companies that only work with professionals, and all the prints come with warranties. This is the kind of quality that can’t be bought in the shops.

No one needs to get a pet photographer, we can all take pictures with our camera phones. You are not just the average owner of a pet though, you are devoted to your furry (or scaly) friend. You don’t want snap shots, you want art work that is unique to you and your experiences, and we want to help you achieve this.
